Good day, Mr. Rainey,
I am reaching out on behalf of my husband, with his consent. Currently, he is paying child support for two (2) children, one of whom is twenty-three (23) years old. The son is attending school part-time and online. However, every time we go to court, the magistrate grants my ex-wife more time with the children. It is important to note that my ex-wife no longer resides in New York; she has moved to Florida, while my son has remained in New York and is currently living with his aunt. Consequently, the child support payments are not being utilized for their intended purpose.
Furthermore, my ex-wife does not provide me with any information regarding our children’s schooling, medical needs, or any other pertinent details that I, as a parent, should be aware of. Whenever I attempt to inquire about these matters, she dismisses me by suggesting that I ask her directly, which I try to avoid due to our strained relationship.
My husband currently has legal representation, but we feel that his lawyer is not being aggressive enough in advocating for our interests. Therefore, we are considering switching counsel to ensure that our concerns are properly addressed.
